These Terms of Service apply to donations made through the website of Islamische Studentengemeinschaft in Clausthal (ISG) (“ISG”, “we”, “us”).
1. Purpose of donations
Donations made through this website are voluntary contributions intended to support the mosque project and the charitable/statutory purposes of ISG.
Where a fundraising campaign identifies a specific project or phase, donations will be used for that purpose in accordance with the donor’s designation and applicable law.
2. Voluntary donations
A donation is made voluntarily and without receiving goods or services of equivalent value in return. Under German law, gratuitous contributions are generally governed by the rules on gifts under §516 BGB.
3. Donation amounts
Donors may select one of the suggested donation amounts or enter another amount where available.
Before completing the payment, donors are responsible for checking that the amount entered is correct.
4. Payments
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers such as PayPal, credit/debit card providers, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shopify Payments or other available providers.
Additional terms and privacy policies of the relevant payment provider may apply.
5. Refunds
Successfully completed donations are generally final and non-refundable.
A refund is not normally provided simply because a donor changes their mind.
If a donation was duplicated, made without authorization, affected by a technical error, or an incorrect amount was entered, the donor should contact us as soon as possible. Such requests will be reviewed individually.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Approved refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method.
6. Donation receipts
Where legally permitted and where the necessary donor information has been provided, ISG may issue a donation receipt or donation confirmation.
A receipt may only be used for tax purposes if the donation qualifies under the applicable tax laws.
If a donation is refunded, any corresponding donation receipt may be cancelled or corrected and must no longer be used for tax purposes.
7. Information provided by donors
Donors are responsible for providing accurate information when making a donation, particularly their name, email address, billing information and any information required for a donation receipt.
Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Use of the website
Users may not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit fraudulent payments, or use the donation system for unlawful purposes.
We may reject or reverse transactions where required for fraud prevention, legal compliance or payment-processing reasons.
9. Availability of the website
We aim to keep the website and donation system available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, technical problems or third-party payment services.
10. Liability
ISG is liable in accordance with applicable German law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would not be legally permitted.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when necessary, for example because of changes to the website, payment methods or applicable law.
The version displayed on the website at the time of the donation will apply.
12. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, subject to any mandatory legal protections that may apply to the donor.
